Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Set out on your journey to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the largest ski area in Wyoming, by heading 12 miles northwest of Jackson. You’ll be in the company of beginning skiers and snowboarders as well as the professional and shredder crowds. 22 miles of groomed terrain, a vertical rise of over 4,000 feet, and one continuous 4.5 mile run are enough to keep you exploring the resort’s runs, half-pipe, terrain park, kids’ ranch, shops, and restaurants for days. Heck, you could be here for weeks and never see the same thing twice if you add neighboring Teton Village to your agenda.
Did You Know?
Jackson Hole Mountain experiences an unusual occurrence in mid-winter called temperature inversion. The inversion develops over the valley and can cause temperatures at the base to be bitterly cold, while it's 20 degrees warmer at the top of the mountain.Jackson Hole Mountain Resort consists of 2,500 acres spread over two adjacent mountains. Rendezvous Mountain is 10,450 feet at the summit and you can only get to the top by hitching a ride on one of the resort’s aerial trams. Since a majority of the runs fall under the expert category, you’ll have plenty of company from other less zealous skiers and boarders to keep you company on the tram ride down. Apres Vous Mountain is where you’ll find the beginners and the intermediates. A gondola, three quad chairs, a triple chair, double chair, and Poma lift will help you navigate the 8,841 feet mountain.
